This is an oil and pastel; Still life by Brendan Cass from 1991, created when he was a student at Morristown High School. Made when he was about 16 years old, this beautiful and rare piece is valued at approximately $30,000. Early works by such a prominent contemporary artist are difficult to find. Brendan Cass later became a renowned artist, with many exhibitions and works sold at auctions and galleries, often exceeding $100,000.
 
Brendan Cass is a post-war and contemporary American painter who was born in 1974 in New Jersey. He draws inspiration from impressions and memories of postcards and images from his travels to create expressionistic landscapes using layers of intense colors. His landscapes are reworked to turn them into imaginary and dreamlike places. He is best known for his large-scale landscape paintings in acid colors.
