This painting by American artist Brendan Cass takes you to a contemporary scene painted in light and dark purple tones. It's detailed with a chapel in the background, contrasting against the purple hues. Broad brush strokes sweep across the canvas dynamically. Each stroke contributes its own rhythm, giving the artwork energy. Light and shadow dance within the brush strokes, creating depth and movement. On the back, it's titled "Akureyri," from 2012.
 
Brendan Cass is an American Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1974 in New Jersey. He is inspired by impressions and memories from postcards and images from his travels to created all-over expressionistic landscapes using layers of rich color. His landscapes are reworked to become dream-like, imaginary places. He is best known for his large-scale landscape paintings in acidic colors.
